Greenwashing is everywhere in eco-friendly retail. Brands slap a leaf on the label and call it sustainable. We do things differently — every claim we make is backed by independent certification or third-party lab testing. No exceptions.

Our certifications

FSC Certified
Forest Stewardship Council 		Applied to all bamboo and wood products. The FSC independently audits the entire supply chain — from forest to product — to verify sustainable harvesting, fair labor practices, and no illegal logging. It's the gold standard in wood certification, and we require it on every bamboo product we carry.
GOTS Certified
Global Organic Textile Standard 		Applied to all cotton-based products, including our beeswax food wraps. GOTS certifies that the cotton was grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, and that workers throughout the supply chain were treated fairly. Only 1% of global cotton production is GOTS certified.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Harmful substance testing 		Every textile and fiber product we carry is tested for over 100 harmful substances — including pesticide residues, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and allergenic dyes. OEKO-TEX certification means the product is safe for direct skin contact, even for babies.
EPA Safer Choice
US Environmental Protection Agency 		Applied to our cleaning concentrate tabs. The EPA's Safer Choice program certifies that every ingredient in a formula has been reviewed for safety — for human health, aquatic life, and the environment. Products must also use safer packaging. This is the highest cleaning product safety standard in the US.

How we vet suppliers

Before any product reaches our shelves, every supplier passes the same process:

  • Certification documents verified directly with the issuing body — not just self-reported
  • Lab test reports requested and reviewed for food-contact products
  • Physical samples ordered and tested in real use before any inventory commitment
  • Factory or production details reviewed for ethical labor practices
  • Ongoing spot-testing — we don't certify once and forget

Our packaging commitment

Every order ships in:

  • Recycled kraft cardboard boxes — no virgin paper
  • Recycled tissue paper — no bubble wrap, no foam peanuts, no plastic fill
  • Paper tape — no plastic tape
  • Compostable mailers for small orders

We offset 100% of shipping emissions through verified carbon credits. The offset cost is built into our pricing — you never pay extra for it.

A word on imperfection

We're not a perfect company. We're a small business doing our best to build something honest. Supply chains are complicated, certifications aren't always available for every material we'd like to use, and we're constantly learning.

What we commit to: we will never knowingly misrepresent a product's sustainability. If we're not sure, we say so. If we get it wrong, we correct it publicly. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
