A single piece of plastic wrap is used for an average of ten seconds. It takes 450 years to break down. These beeswax wraps do everything plastic wrap does — cover bowls, keep cheese fresh, wrap half an avocado — and when you're done with them a year from now, they go in the compost. Not the landfill.

Handmade by Honey Bee Good, each set comes with three sizes built for different jobs: a small for snacks and cut fruit, a medium for bowls and sandwich halves, and a large for covering bigger dishes and wrapping bread. The warmth of your hands activates the wax and makes the wrap pliable — fold it around whatever needs covering and it stiffens as it cools to hold its shape.

Care: cool water only — warm water melts the wax. Wash with a small amount of mild soap, lay flat to dry. When the wrap starts to lose its stick, lay it on parchment in a low oven (170°F) for 2 minutes to refresh.
